This policy explains what junk.xyz (“we,” “us”) collects, why, and the choices you have. We are an independent information website, not a junk removal company. We try to collect as little as possible.
Information we collect
Quote-request forms
Some city pages offer a “get a quote” form. If you fill it in, we process the name, phone number, and job details you enter, plus the city and state of the page. Today, in this early phase, that data is stored locally in your own browser (localStorage) and is not transmitted to our servers. As the service matures, submissions will be sent to us and/or to a vetted local junk-removal provider or pay-per-call partner so they can contact you about your request. We will only ever use this information to connect you with a provider for the job you asked about.
Analytics
We use Vercel Analytics, a privacy-friendly analytics product that measures page views and aggregate usage. It does not use third-party tracking cookies and does not build advertising profiles of you. We also record anonymous, aggregated conversion events (for example, that a “call” or “quote” button was tapped on a given city page) so we know which pages are useful. These events are tagged with city/state, not with your identity.
Call data (future pay-per-call tracking)
When our pay-per-call features go live, tapping a call button may connect you through a tracked phone number provided by a lead-generation network. In that case, the network and the receiving provider may collect call metadata — the number you call from, the time and duration of the call, and your approximate region — and calls may be recorded for quality and billing. That processing is governed by the network's and the provider's own privacy policies. We will identify tracked-call behavior on the relevant pages before enabling it, and this section will be updated with the specific partners involved.
Server logs
Our hosting provider (Vercel) automatically logs standard technical information such as IP address, browser type, and requested URL for security and reliability. These logs are retained for a limited period.
Cookies
junk.xyz does not set advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. We do not currently use cookies for personalization. Any storage we use (such as saving an in-progress quote form) is kept in your browser via localStorage and can be cleared at any time from your browser settings. If we introduce cookies later, we will update this policy and, where required, ask for consent.
How we share information
- Service providers that help us operate the site (hosting, analytics).
- Junk-removal providers and pay-per-call networks, when you submit a quote request or place a tracked call, so they can respond to you.
- Legal reasons, if required by law or to protect our rights and users' safety.
We do not sell your personal information for money.
Your rights (CCPA / GDPR)
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or port your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing.
- California residents (CCPA/CPRA): you may request access to or deletion of your personal information, and you have the right to opt out of “sale” or “sharing” of personal information. We do not sell personal information for money; where connecting you to a provider could be considered “sharing,” you may opt out by contacting us.
- EEA/UK residents (GDPR): our legal bases are your consent (when you submit a form) and our legitimate interests (running and improving the site). You may withdraw consent or object at any time, and you may lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority.

Data retention & security
We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purpose it was collected, then delete or anonymize it. We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect it, though no method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
Children
junk.xyz is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the product evolves — especially when pay-per-call tracking launches. Material changes will be reflected in the “last updated” date above.
